FISHING AT BYWELL
The Bywell beat of the River Tyne is one of the best stretches of salmon fishing in England. Running directly through the estate, the beat is 2.5 miles long and fishing is from both banks.
There are 12 main pools with others available during high water conditions. Fishing on the river is on a 1-beat system, with 5 rods. The estate employs one full-time Ghillie to look after the fishing clients.
The River Tyne is famous for its large fish, and the five year average at Bywell is 265 salmon and grilse.
